SERBIAN APHORISM WRITERS IN ANTHOLOGY OF WORLD’S BEST APHORISM WRITERS
Three Serbian aphorism writers, Rastko Zakic, Aleksandar Baljak and Aleksandar Cotric, are the only authors from the Balkan region represented in the “Anthology of World’s Best Aphorism Writers”. Besides their aphorisms, also printed are their bibliographies and short biographies.
The anthology has been published by Bloomsbery Publishing House from New York, edited by James Greary, who lives in London. This book is a fruit of many years of his dedicated efforts in studying the aphorism and authors from all around the world. The “Anthology of World’s Best Aphorism Writers” includes eight verses of Aleksandar Baljak and four of each of the other two authors – Rastko Zakic and Aleksandar Cotric. Among others, the book features the thoughts and aphorisms of Mark Twain, Anton Chekhov, William Shakespear, Albert Camus, Friedrich Nietze, Winston Churchill and other famous writers. Interestingly enough, this year, in Russia, also published was the book “Anthology of Wisdom”, edited by Vladimir Schoyher. It presents 25 thousand aphorisms, including those of 20 Serbian authors, and in Macedonia, Vasil Tolevski prepared the book entitled “Our Friends”, exclusively of Serbian aphorism writers’ works.
